do you have suggestions of ethnobotanical plants to grow indoors with limited space? Right now I am aiming for a patch of cool herbs like purple basil (still looking for thai holy basil), cacti and succulents and just curiosities that I can manage to keep somewhat small - if necessary bonsai style like baobab or moringa olifeira.
So: please let me know if you have nice ideas!

A rainforest stimulant, a tree that is rich in caffeine (stimulating), theobromine (stimulating) and l-theanine (tranquilizing). A coffee and green tea alternative, it actually tastes a little like a combination of the two would taste like (presumably, I have no intentions to try that), but it's not an unpleasant taste. It's also less jittery than coffee.
The dried leaves (anywhere from 1 to, say, 7 grams) are boiled/simmered for 15 to 30 minutes (and you can even reuse them after that).
It has some resemblances with Yerba Maté (effect and taste wize), which belongs to the same (Ilex) family.
Besides the wakeful alertness and calmly stimulating effects, dream recalling properties are also attributed to these leaves, when taken early in the morning.

A rainforest plant that is:
- Immunomodulating/Antimutagenic
- Antipsoriatic
- Neuroprotective
- Skinprotective
- Cough suppressive
- Anti-inflamatory
- Diuretic
- Detoxifying
I have it in powder form and take 1 gram of it daily, internally. The adviced dosage is 1 to 2 grams twice a day. It seems to definitely help with my skin problems so far (psoriasis and some minor fungal issues). I've only been taking it for a few days now, I hope I can make some more final positive statements in the future, mainly about the antipsoriatic activity. I'm also interested in the neuroprotective properties that are attributed to this plant.
The diuretic and detoxifying effects were also noticed.

I don't really use Salvia, but I am growing one plant and one cutting that is doing well. In the past I have smoked Salvia and found it interesting and in retrospect I am glad that I never broke through overwhelmingly, I like psychedelics but that just doesn't sound like it is for me.
Maybe I will try making a tincture at some point though, for a more dilated and less flash-like experience. At this rate I am going to have to propagate my plants a bit more though, or just get some plain leaf from somewhere else of course.
I could upload pics of the plants if you like.
